Linus Tech Tips has a video about it for the Air but it can be done on the Pros. This will make the bottom of the laptop a heat sink instead of a heat insulator so it will cause burns if left on your skin but this does wonders for cooling. On the hardware side of things, if you’re brave and don’t use the MBP in your lap or for portability much, you can open the laptop up, take off the lid’s thermal lining and add thermal pads to the CPU. I recommend trying undervolting first over throttle stop. I can’t easily explain those so you’ll want to research them. ![]() You can also explore limiting the power to the CPU either via Windows Power Settings (80% is what I hear works for some people) or try undervolting/throttle stop. This will make your fans kick on earlier and sooner but will help keep the temps down. Get Macs Fan Control and set the left fan to be based on CPU PECI and the right fan based on GPU PECI. The left side causes the thermals to rise. Always have the power on the right, never the left. ![]()
